Photography
AS / A2 Photography
This is a two year course which consists of two units each year, Coursework and a Practical Examination. The course is Art based and requires a creative flair. Students will be expected to gain a broad knowledge of Black and White Photographic Materials and Techniques as well as developing skills in Digital Photography and the use of Photoshop. Students will learn how to analyse and evaluate the work of others and they will develop an eye for composition and presentation.
The Practical Coursework should show that students are able to produce imaginative and experimental photographic work. This includes the use of studio lighting and digital manipulation of images. Research is conducted for each project and students are asked to produce sketchbooks and presentation boards displaying their own project work.
The Externally Set Assignment or ‘Controlled Test’ will be based upon exam questions set by the Examination Board and students will be expected to produce preparatory studies and finished final work.
