BTEC Diploma in Performing Arts
Performing Arts
This is a two-year modular course that involves three mandatory units plus optional units for a total of 120 credits. It is equivalent to two traditional A levels. There is both theory and practical study involved in the course.
During the course you will take part in practical activities in the studio and in the theatre. You will also work with professional artists in workshop situations and take part in trips to industry.

Rehearsing For Performance
Musical Theatre Performance
Variety Performance

Singing Skills for Actors and Dancers

Dance Performance
Theatre For Children
Assessment
Your assessment is spread throughout the whole year and could involve live performance, written assignments, presentations, practical assessment and witness statements. There are no exams!
Next Steps
This course will enable you to progress to a higher education foundation degree at university or drama school. You may also choose to enter a specialist area of employment within the performing arts industry. It is possible to take a re-sit a GCSE or take up an AS alongside this course.
